Course Outcomes: 

Learner Development

Teacher candidates will plan and implement primary grade literacy instruction that is linked to student backgrounds across a variety of diverse characteristics. (See ILA Standard 4)

Literacy Instruction

Teacher candidates will be able to plan, implement, and reflect on early literacy instruction (prek-3) for whole class, small groups, and individual students (e.g., read aloud, shared reading, guided reading, independent reading, shared writing interactive writing, language experience). (See ILA Standard 2)

Professional Learning

Teacher candidates will be able to locate current research-based information in the professional literature (i.e., journal articles, state core curriculum, IRA position statements, books), and consult these professional resources as they pursue the development of their individual professional knowledge and behaviors. (See ILA Standard 6).
